what i see

i close my eyes and you are all i see. quiet cruelty in a moments glance.

you are beautiful.

time passes and your light only shines more brightly as mine seems to fade away. you are that essence seen so clearly yet too far away to grasp. all i get is faint touches of memories long lost to both our minds.

but you are still smiling.

you still have hope and your light still shines brightly amidst your tear-stained face. i see you reaching out for that hope you've always had. arms stretched, body straining. you're grasping at an illusion while i am on the opposite side, dying.

because watching you struggle hurts me too much to go on anymore.
