a cross walk

i was standing by the cross walk, waiting to cross, as i watched cars whiz by. i imagined jumping in front of one of those passing cars. i wondered if they were going fast enough to kill me. i imagined my body flailing in the air and crashing down. i imagined you watching it all happen. the thing is, i couldn't imagine your reaction. i kept wondering though, as we walked passed those stopped cars...
